Don't grey out unmatched traits, just highlight matched traits (implemented)
When viewing a profile, any trait which doesn't match my like/dislike preferences is greyed out and sometimes hard to read as a result. I still want to know these things though and read them well, even if they're not important for matching up!
Please leave these traits white or at least more legible, and instead distinguish the traits that match positively in another way, like with a highlight.

This is not correct. Anything for which you do not have a preference either way is grayed out. Non matches are displayed in a contrasting color.
If it is important, then, well, you should have set a preference on it.
By non-match, I mean something without a preference either way, which doesn't match a like or dislike.

I don't have species preferences or pubic hair preferences. I still want to read those features so I understand what I'm working with. Not important for matching and no preference != I should never, ever care about or read it.
Honestly, it's kind of confusing until you figure it out. I think red for not like, green for like, unchanged color for neutral is both a) clear and b) doesn't affect readability.

This is what it boils down to, basically. I don't see a downside to this color scheme.
In fact, currently, what you like blends in with other text. Neutral just blends in worse, with the background, while dislike is an eyesore (which I suppose it should be).
This functionality has been removed on the testing server.
