I would rather be able to tell the naga and taur categories apart and set individual preferences for them.
Does make me wonder what we should do for mermaids though.
Or the harpies. I think Naga is too specific since "snake" is a species, not a body type. If there shall be two categories then maybe one for quadruped and one for other hybrids. I am not sure if this is necessary, since if I set species snake and body type hybrid it is clear it's a Naga and if I choose species horse and body type hybrid it's clear it is a Centaur. A horse anthro with two legs would be body type anthro or kemonomimi. The kind of the lower body is defined by the species so it doesn't have to be defined by the body type.
If I read "taur" I think Minotaur by the way, since this is a quite common char, especially the WoW tauren.
Tauros is Greek for "bull", I know the Minotaur though with a lower human body and a bull head. Kemonomimi is also mentioned in the description of Demihuman as an example for a species. I think Demihuman is more a body type than a species. The only alternative for Kemonomimi is probably Neko. Well, "human" could be the description for a char who exactly looks like a human. A Kryptonian for example.

Maybe? I don't know if people looking for taurs etc are interested in every kind of them. To me, Taur
is an appropriate level of generality. Do we have other opinions of this?

We're declining this suggestion. We see value in keeping Naga and Taur separate, along with other possible body types.
Yes, taur
is an appropriate level of generality, but Naga
is not.
