When I edit a post, my active character in a roleplay is automatically switched to that character. This can reveal alts when I don't want it to.

This won't actually switch the active character, but in the edit screen, the name you see will be the name of your current sidewide active character instead of whoever you used to post the message. This doesn't actually change who posted the message, it's a benign and confusing holdover from how the site used to work.
... Unless you've observed this actually changing the character, of course. That would be a worry.

Could you clarify if edits have actually changed the character a post came from?
If it's what Samus described is related to editing posts shows site wide active profile not profile tied to the post youre editing (litphoria.com)
I actually had this happen to me... I had posted something with my Yulanda and edited the post. My active site-profile was set to Sheena-Tiger and without me realizing it my next posts in the chatroom were made using Sheena-Tiger. I only realized 2 or 3 posts later after someone pointed it out and I definitely had not changed the active character in chat.

Let me see if I understand, Sheena-Tiger:
This has not changed the character associated with the post.
After making an edit, you've observed sometimes that the character with which you're connected to that channel has changed. It has changed to be your site-wide active profile, instead of another with which you were connected and posting just prior to the edit.
Is that correct?
Yes Lich, that is what happened and it is what I read from the opening text as well.
The opening statement/bug report said that the active character is changed, which is what happened to me. It did not change the 'posting' character. Right now I am unable to reproduce it.
Got something to say?
