I commented on some feedback, and now my notifications box consistently look a little like this: new comment in "Fox". new comment in "Fox". new comment in "Fox". new comment in "Fox". new comment in "Fox". new comment in "Fox".
... I would rather it say this: 6 new comments in "Fox."
And when I click on it, I'd rather NOT see: "(Name) has commented on Fox / click here to view the event."
I'd like it to just take me straight to the new feedback instead!

This would require at least a minor rewrite of how notifications currently work, in case anyone wishes to endorse this.
As for clicking on notifications automatically taking you to the "event": not all notifications have an event with which to take you to, and then you'd have no way (currently) to delete them, without wiping all of your notifications.
It would be a bit more streamlined if the feedback page had trash cans/delete buttons next to each item on the list, so that the notifications with related events could forward to that event directly without the extra page load.
The bit in your last two paragraphs got implemented in this feedback. I support combining notifications though!
