Feedback ยท Change Roleplay appearance (implemented)

I think it'd be helpful if a user could change the look of a roleplay to being identical to a chat, with less space between posts.

I gotta be honest. I like the appearance of standard role plays better than chat. That is why, for readability, I was one of the people to push chat closer to the look of standard role play. I would have preferred the lines in chat, but accepted the spacing. I like the clear definition between posts.

That said, disabling notifications for ooc chatter actually makes sense. While it may be important to see all of the ic posts. I could see not wanting to be pinged every time that the participants in a group role play get into a bit of ooc chatter.

I had actually planned on doing this earlier, but a general configuration that goes both ways, e.g one could make a chat look like a standard and vice versa. Goes along with the idea of people being able to play as they like.

Right. Ideally, this should be something that's decided on the User level, not the creator.

So someone could view a roleplay in their preference, the standard form or the chat form, or even a third thing.

Yes, this does actually open up the possibility of even more display options.

That'd be nice. I actually like the color customization and other visual tweaks left to individual users will only act to make the site all the more personalized.

It's not stated above by anyone, but I can think of one reason that this is desired by many. With the current Standard style, it doesn't look good if you use the '/me' style of 'emoting' or writing out actions in italics and speech in normal text. If viewed in a 'chat-style' appearance, it looks okay. When using Standard RP, I feel constrained by the format to write the RP in something like third-person omniscient point of view, rather than 'emoting'. Being able to render the RP as chat-style in the Standard mode would permit the 'emoting' style of RP. At least, it wouldn't look 'wrong'.

I think this one's been implemented now. Gear icon -> Inline Mode vs Block Mode, yeah?

This has been implemented. As Tyne describes, click the cog in any chat. Inline mode is the default chat appearance, block mode is the default roleplay appearance.

Speaking of "less space between posts", you can adjust that too.
