Feedback ยท Show Preferences when viewing profile in widescreen (in review)

This is just one potential idea for how to view the Traits section of profiles. There's a lot of empty space there right now, when viewed in a wide browser.

Preferences are hidden by default, which seems strange to me, because they seem just as important as everything else. I've seen some minor confusion with them - they could be just a tiny touch more intuitive.

So to help solve all these problems, I was thinking Preferences could be shown only when the browser is wide enough. It might look like this.

Whenever we talk about using the right margin, let us consider that I intend later on to fill the right margin with the profile comparison later on, and I expect most people to usually be in a comparison mode (I am even considering it making it on by default, comparing against active profile).

I would endorse this heavily. Great idea. If a person has any preferences at all, then the first thing a user does is hit expand all rather than going through one my one.

The only issue might be that if they aren't shown on compact screens, then the expand button must be highlighted in the case that there is either added detail, or a preference. But if they are shown on a given screen, then ideally, the expand button is only highlighted if there is added detail, which is the only other thing that could be inside.

Perhaps, it is displayed this way even on small screens, and it just stacks up vertically when the screen is very narrow. That way, the only thing folded up is the added description.

Ah that's right, about the profile comparison! I actually like the idea of that being the default way to view it. With that in mind, the comparisons do seem like a better thing to endorse, to me.

Imagine, instead of seeing all those likes and dislikes for preferences, the comparison just tells you if your character's a match or not. Much more brief, much more relevant!

Still, this idea would still be useful for people who aren't logged in / have no active character. Mainly for helping new visitors and such!

I have unblocked this with the concession that the behavior will not be used except when you are not logged in (ie visitors). Profile comparison will be used instead for logged-in persons.
