Probably related to the JavaScript reorg.

Here's the bug:

1. Edit your profile.
2. Click the button for beginning to add a trait. Pick one.
3. Instead of picking a trait category, hit the X to cancel adding this trait.
4. Trait adding interface disappears. Ok so far.
5. Try to add a trait again.

Before the JS rewrite, the interface would present the list of traits again. Now it takes you back to the category choice for the trait you'd picked already and decided you didn't want to add.
