When I have a private conversation, it can show messages from days ago, or even multiple days at once, but it only shows the time of them being sent.
I would like for messages older than 24h to either have actual date or X days ago. Optionally have each day have a 'separator' in form of horizontal rule with date written (kind of like Skype).

Whatever we take from skype should be few and far between. What is done in slimCat currently for notes may be more appropriate, where a date is shown instead of a timestamp. It could also use the slightly longer fuzzy timestamp seen elsewhere around the site (e.g Yesterday at 2:54pm)
Skype was more or less of a 'alternative approach' thing than anything else. I just want way to tell how the dates are more or less - so it is easy to check for how long somebody was silent and such.
I would say some form of date stamp would be nice, either included in the time stamp or the days separated with a line would be fine too. But since the data is readily available when a message is posted, It seems to just make sense. It won't take much space and if the same time/date format is used for each message it seems like a simple addition.
It does add potentially useful information and avoids confusion caused by only time stamps when time appears to run backward from one post to the next.
