Performing a character switch should save what you have written (implemented)
When switching character, if you've entered text, and it hasn't been saved first by entering a punctuation mark like a full stop, that text will be lost. If you have entered such a mark, text after it gets lost.
Probably a character switch should preserve what you have written.
This is relevant for, say, entering a PM then realising you're on the wrong character for it, as mentioned in this other feedback.

This one seems solved to me. Entered text isn't lost when using the character switch near the text-entry box in chats. It is still lost if switching using the top of the page, but I think that's okay.
Marking this as resolved.
The issue of connecting to a PM as the wrong character was solved a little while ago - you can't do that anymore.
Character switching inside a roleplay is quicker with the in-channel character switcher, and your post doesn't get lost.
The only outlying scenario is the potential to lose a post that didn't have a line break because you voluntarily used the character switcher at the top of the page. That is not a danger to anyone at the moment like the original issue was. We'll consider addressing that if it comes up as an issue.
