Allow RPs to be marked as looking for players or closed (accepted)
master of 1 children
Right now, in-progress doesn't really convey anything except that at least one person has decided that the RP has officially started. That can be problematic when open-world or group RPs have posts made to them but are still accepting players. This can be solved by leaving the RP in staging until the desired number of players has been reached, but isn't ideal for people then trying to search through just ideas.
Whether an RP is accepting more players or not can largely be inferred by whether or not a person has decided to set post privileges to public, but can't be ascertained. Groups may want to invite players themselves or at least have possible players ask before entering, and so set posting to invite-only. Or a person(s) may have simply offered a sort of 'first come, first serve' ad and forgotten to change post privileges from public.
"Looking for players" and "closed" would be helpful additions, besides just privacy settings.

Yes please! And explicitly stating both would be helpful for clarity. (So as to leave no guesses or inferences.)
WA, the roleplay capacity thing seems to say: "I probably want about 3 people."
This one just communicates really clearly whether you're closed to new people or still want new people participating. To get the same information with just the roleplay capacity, you'd have to do some investigation and guesswork. The roleplay that's hit capacity might still be happy to have one more person, and the roleplay beneath it might figure that's all they want now and they're fine and the capacity was over-estimated for whatever reason.
Also this one's filterable, so that people can look specifically for roleplays still accepting new people.
For some role-plays, even if they're in progress, people can still show up late. It'd be a bit inflated to have several different statuses that say, "In progress and looking," or "In progress and not looking." Exactly how many players do you have attempting to join your role-plays on a daily basis?
I think it would be better to phrase the statuses as "open to new players" and "closed to new players" or some such derivation. The role-plays are an inanimate abstraction, whereas the players and their characters are animate abstractions. It's the people who are doing the looking; not their ideas.
Got something to say?
Why don't you register and participate?
