I am thinking if we could maybe do it a bit... differently? I mean, wondered about editing the idea into Demeanour or such and inside have something like Brutish, Noble, 'Adulating' and so on. I think it would show the concept of charisma in more relevant for stories way? I mean, there is higher chance I want to just find somebody who acts like a brute.

Moved to needs discussion because of some disagreement.

Roel

You can't have noble brute if we are going in the way I am thinking because it is how character generally fits into perception. Brutish would be your stereotypical crude humour, simple speech, not too crafty character, while noble would be all about high culture, etiquette and such. It kind of implies the charisma in a way that most of the time you could tell what type of character high charisma would fit.
I am mostly trying to invent both descriptive and useful.

Roel

No, I mean... you can easily be brutal and uncivilized as well as courageous and concerned with justice. So 'brutish' is not mutually exclusive from 'noble.' Think... "good barbarian king."

If you can specify things about body in two traits, then why not here? 'good barbarian king' would have Demeanour of Brute, while Alignment of Good/Heroic. Voila.

Roel

But would be just as correct listed as noble/good. I want to avoid that.

While I want to avoid having "good barbarian king" ending as something like "high charisma, low intellect, good alignment(...)".
I know we can go into "how these names don't fit" but I don't want to go about names - I want to go about idea. In my opinion Charisma is in the spot where if you want a high one, it implies some type of character (noble, leader) and low another (servant, withdrawn characters etc). Why it bothers me? Because if we can know what overall type can be useful, we can avoid forcing people to go through tedium of making it from small parts.

We do not do this with any other trait, I do not see a compelling reason to start now. Profile inspirations will address the issue of trying to combine atomic pieces into bigger, easier-to-manage ones.

I don't feel confident relying our trait-design on suggestion that consistently and for weeks is on the second page of feedback.

Roel

I am more than okay if we go about it that way - with more descriptive categories, than stating the 'intensity/level' of charisma - about which I was honestly worried.

Disagreement seems to have been resolved, so I am unblocking.
