I would like ethics completely removed.

Reasoning here is that ethics is a very abstract concept which isn't very useful for searching and has a bunch of confusing or controversial categories, which is not really aligned with the philosophy of traits. With alignment coming down and likely to get endorsed, a simple rename to morality runs into conflict (not to mention all of the old categories would have to be adjusted).
So just deleting it and starting anew seems like the easiest path forward. We will identify any remaining holes in personality traits and fill them appropriately, hopefully without another ethics-style one.
As much as I liked idea of ethics for expressing a few things about the character... yes, it ended up in awkward spot.
Might be that expressing similar to that concept without a trait, or with freshly cooked trait, will work better. It was a fun experiment, but amount of controversy it raises is making it not really worth it in the long run.
