It's a well-known series with two seasons of anime, a fairly extensive manga run, and a prequel series - all still running. It may not be the most popular canon to play in, but many of the players are quite active.

Same series, only that this one has a slightly more description on what the main series is about. The manga explains further than the anime series, though.
