Kill la Kill is based in ww2/modern japan which is controlled by the local high schools, who vie for power with each other through matches with their various sports teams and clubs. Fabric technology has progresses so far that guns have become mostly a thing of the past. Thread, and Apparel are constant motifs throughout the series as most of the schools use 'life fiber' technology to enhance their student athletes for combat against their opposing schools. A group of anti-fiber tech rebels, aptly named 'Nudist beach', fights against the advancement and proliferation of the 'life-fiber' technology.

I did some editing to describe the series itself:
Kill la Kill is based in WW2 era Japan, and revolves around high schools waging completely over the top wars with each other using high tech 'life-fiber' uniforms. The main character is a transfer student bent on avenging her fathers death. The lead 'villain' is the senior class president who has a twisted view on society, viewing people as 'pigs in human costumes'. Anti-government guerrilla fighters, aptly named 'Nudist Beach', oppose the enhanced life-fiber technology, and are rightfully nudists. This is not an anime that takes itself seriously ^^
Can we have something that describes the series or setting instead of mostly describing the lead characters?
Okay, I have taken bits and pieces from the provided descriptions to make something that should be more relevant to someone not already familiar with the canon, who is interested in participating in it.
Got something to say?
