the profile link in the Preview box (your profile name) of a standard RP (not a chat) will open in the same tab. Since it is the closest link at hand for opening your own profile to check on some detail for your RP, it happens to be a not-unlikely opportunity to lose at least some text in the post you may be working on when it happens. (ALSO, the same is true for the profile link in a feedback Post Preview as well, which someone might click on as a fast way to open a profile and check some detail about which they are making the feedback.)
