Feedback ยท List markdown and linebreaks aren't working. (closed)

When I try to make a list, the bullets don't work with markdown in the roleplay descriptions.

Also, line breaks that aren't two lines convert to being on the same line with just a space between them.

Velus explained it in the first comment. Could we get that information added to the page that tells about Markdown?

When I try to make a list, the bullets don't work with markdown in the roleplay descriptions.

Bullets should work if you make sure there's a double enter before and after them, i.e.:

Words words

* list stuff
* more list stuff

Words words words

If they don't work, what are you entering and what are you seeing?

Also, line breaks that aren't two lines convert to being on the same line with just a space between them.

This is by design in markdown. (It is not uncommon that this trips people up.)

Markdown works in paragraphs, and paragraphs must be separated by empty lines. Otherwise you get what you're describing.

If you want a single line break after a line, put two spaces at the end of the line.
Like so. Not the most transparent feature ever.

Oh, thanks! That's helpful to know. =) I'm gonna edit this to have that information added to the page that tells more about Markdown, cuz I'm sure I'm not the only one having the issue.

Hmmm. There's a clear line break on the help documentation for the markdown lists already.

I am also looking into perhaps another implementation of markdown that doesn't require the two spaces at the end for a single line break, but it appears to just be how markdown rolls.
