So, when you click on a notification, its gone. No matter if you answered to it, if you want it read or not, its gone. So, here comes a little idea. A link that leads to a page that is a 'Notification Log' say...the last 10 or 20 notifications are stored there, until replaced by a newer one. That way, if you clicked on something and didn`t have time to reply to it right away, its not lost entirely.
This idea is to fix the problem described in http://litphoria.com/feedback/20264/section-for-friend-requests and also help remember who last spoke to you since you last logged on, if you actually went and clicked the notifications without having time to reply. ((I tend to like to Read, then take my time to consider an answer, then go to answer...))

I would benefit from this. I have a mobile connection that sometimes goes very slow or winks out. On more than one occasion I've tapped a notification, and my internet picks around that time to go slow. It seems to communicate with the server just enough to reach the notification page — and prompt the server to delete the notification — but not enough to then get forwarded onto what the notification was about. That means I refresh, and I get a message saying "sorry, that notification doesn't exist," and if I'm lucky I remember what it was for and visit it the long way.
What happens is the notifications are simply deleted (forever) as you click them. People were simply not deleting them otherwise (since it was kind of awkward to). Restoring the "read" functionality and making it a running log of the last 10 or so could work.
last 10 would make it actually nice. If you miss out on something, you can see there. Beyond 10, means you pretty much didn't care about it ^-^
I would be for the adding the ability to star
or pin
a notification in such a log, so that I will have it visually differed and never deleted until I remove the marker.
Sometimes you need to postpone activity in a certain RP for a really long time, so it would be easy to forget about being due a post in it while also not having time soon enough to get to it before the log overflows it.
That isn't a bad idea, Roel
