I'd like to be able to blacklist certain interests, so that ideas that have them attached or profiles that have them in mandatory don't appear in search.

Shouldn't this be automatic and drawn from the No list of the currently active character? That would make the system a lot more flexible and actually useful for finding plays for the certain character. With maybe an option to turn it off for those who prefer to browse everything anyway.

I was thinking more like a limited blacklist, able to put maybe 10-20 things on there that I would never see. My absolute "never in your life will I do this" are a bit different from a character's "No, I didn't make this character for this and don't especially want to indulge in it with them".

I was working on an assumption that if a character has something currently as a No, there is no real will to play that with it. So, no need to even show things that are really focused on it. Come to think of it, this could be very well another feature, though they would double the same functionality without an actual need.

I don't think the main page would do any kind of filtering, since it's just a community activity pulse. Something can be done with search results, but we might end up with "holes", where a page of 20 items only has 0-19 on it due the items being removed.

The way I've used Interests in some of my RP Ideas is that they are all things that I would do, not everything that must appear in the RP, meaning that I've put in something like Consensual and Non-consensual (back when we didn't have Dubious Consent). I might try to note that the RP could go either way and elaborate on what I mean with "Non-consensual", in that case, in the RP "Setting" box, because obviously, for a given Idea, having two contradictory things wouldn't seem to make sense. But then if some people put Non-consensual on their blacklist, they will never see my RP or read my note.
