When a new RP is first posted into, the initial posts do not show for either the poster, or the involved participant(s) who are all currently connected to the new RP.
A browser refresh will show the post(s), and the RP works normally from then on. All participants must refresh their browsers. Notifications from the browser do work, and the posts are there, and will be shown after the refresh. Tested in Chrome.

So what's the repro steps here? You can use the testing server if need be.
I think it will reproduce with just the owner making a first post into a new RP, but I've only done new RPs with invited participants. In each case, everyone needed to refresh to see the first posts. In my test, I had another profile invited, and we both needed to refresh after getting initially connected. Several posts on each side did not display at all, but we did get pop-ups. Once we each refreshed, we could see our posts.
I believe that I had at least one similar experience using Firefox; had to refresh the browser page to see the post I sent.
