In RP idea creation, add a toggle for open to replies in-ad vs not (needs discussion)
Roleplay ideas can be set up in either of these two ways:
- You can set the idea to allow replies from everyone, which means someone can dive right in or inquire right there.
- You can set the idea to only allow replies from invited people. This means people contact you privately, you talk things over with them, an then maybe you invite them to that roleplay and get started, or you create something new and separate.
The RP idea creation in profiles doesn't offer this option though, you can only do it if you create a full roleplay, and even knowing you can do it this way probably takes being a power user who understands what's going on with Litphoria's systems pretty well. (Most feedback users reading this will likely be power users.)
The roleplay idea creation in profiles should have an option that makes either type of ad available to people.

I think that, in general, we need some kind of RP creation wizard
or something of the sort (or better made settings, like it is discussed here combine the two roleplay viewership permissions into one setting (litphoria.com)) that would be one thing for every place - creating stuff in many ways is confusing and not intuitive.
And, additionally, I think we should have create new
(for roleplays, chats, ideas... all that follows the same pattern) in site's header, because that is one of the main functions and the easier it is to go into it, the better.
The RP Idea creation in profiles is intentionally very limited, since as you pointed out in the body of this suggestion, there is a lot of options in a roleplay creation, and it can be overwhemling to some people.
But I disagree pretty strongly you need to be a power user to click on one of your ads and hit "edit".

It took me ages before I even learned this was a thing I could do with ads. This tells them they can do it, and lets them do it from the outset.
From your post in this options rewrite, only two groups of settings are really relevant to an ad: whether people can post in it, and whether it's sexual. That is not an overwhelming amount. People can edit for the finer points, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't provide them with the full two setup options and help them realise how ads can be used.
Like, let's put it this way: in a feature that lets someone create something relatively small and simple, do you want to provide them with the primary options, explain them, and teach them what they can do with that thing — or do you want to give them the bare minimum of features, and let them figure out / accidentally discover / learn from others that the rest can be applied to a useful effect that could have been reasonably covered already in the creation feature?
Got something to say?
Why don't you register and participate?
Litphoria has a unique community feedback system, where the community decides what profile options are available, and what order new features are developed.
