When you edit a box, it's default size is the default box with only a few lines showing. It's possible to stretch it out, but it would be a lot more intuitive for users if when they edited a post, the box was automatically stretched out far enough to contain the whole post in the same way that the box will stretch when they're making a particularly long post.
