I selfishly wonder if this would be better named 'ruler' or 'aristocrat', with the description along the lines of "A character with such wealth and power that they are a ruler or title-holder."
Those two were names I also considered. I'll explain why I didn't pick those to see if it makes sense:
I could go for this as a description:
A character with such wealth and power as to make them the ruler or master of a domain, and above being "employed" inside it.
I'd like to keep the last bit. Do we mention title holder as well?
Oops, accidental character switch.
Atypically tall for a blood member of House Delacroix, Fenrich Emerson cuts a tall, imposing figure at about eight feet. He's muscled, of course. All captains of the guard have to be. Strangely, though, there's an unshakeable air of flippancy about him. Perhaps it's not flippancy; it may be closer to ennui, or even closer to simple laziness. His armor is shined, his clothes well-kept, his face clean-shaven, but his hair is the one place he rebels. It's perennially unkempt, and his blonde bangs fall across one or the other of his pale green eyes. His face is dominated by a large, prominent nose that does little to diminish his roguish charm.
Fenrich's a laid-back man, easygoing and more than a little complacent. He's quite happy to stay out of the world of the nobility; all those unending balls and facades are a pain in the backside. He's pleasantly sociable, however, and treats everyone with the same unconcerned politeness whether they're a prince or a pauper. His sense of justice is strong, and he takes his responsibilities as a man of the law more seriously than he lets on.
Pride seems an alien word to him, and he's quite happy to have a few dirty spots on his armour and clothes. Maybe growing up around Alessa made him decide to be her antithesis. He seems to think that much of life is a joke, and is happy to take most things in his stride. He often wears a wry, lopsided smile.
wow go me please ignore that last post.
Your explanations were great! And the new description works perfectly. Please excuse me now while I die of embarrassment.
Alessa cannot help but gush about her enemy, I can understand this. I write poetry about those space pirates sometimes but it's usually got more explosions in it. Can I share one?
Space pirates shouting murder.
Fire tears through the bows
As I blow up their dumb ship.
Is it good? I think it's good but I'm still practicing.
I'm glad you approve of the description, I'll update.
Got something to say?
