Feedback ยท Remove the "Mark as read" button from profiles since it does nothing (implemented)

Right now the "Mark as read" button does... nothing.

It used to cross out names on profiles, but that was removed because it made no sense and received complaint. (It would make no sense if the button was "mark as not interesting", but it doesn't make sense crossing out my friend's name because I've read their profile.)

Since it does absolutely nothing right now, except toggle itself between saying "read" and "unread", can it be removed from profiles for now? It can be put back whenever it actually does something. I keep hitting it by mistake, and there shouldn't be a pointless button there anyway.

Why not have this as a suggestion to make it do something instead?

Simply, I have nothing to request of it. I don't know what it should do. I imagine it's useful to know which profiles I haven't read yet, but I can't tell you how those I have and haven't read should be set apart usefully.

Even if I did have an idea though: I'd still request it go away temporarily until such ideas can be implemented (because that may take months, but removing the button could be done much sooner. This is that request.

I just keep pushing it when I am trying to message or befriend someone, and that sends me back to the profile list and wastes time. I don't want a button that does nothing to keep wasting my time for ages.

I have some moer useful ideas for what a "mark as not interesting" button should do, but that isn't this button, and I'd still make the request to hide this button like I said.

This is on the testing server. This functionality has been effectively removed until we can implement another, less controversial use for it.
