The new chat's fantastic for mobiles, because tabs (and all chat updates) go to sleep when they're in the background. The new chat immediately auto-updates with the most recent messages when I refocus it.
However, the inbox notification doesn't. So the entire page is live, but I'll be oblivious to new PMs until I visit the inbox page or navigate somewhere else on the site. Could the inbox please update too?

Actually it looks like the inbox isn't lighting up at all even on desktop.
If I have an inactive chat page open when an inbox message, the [1] will appear over the favicon, but the inbox link won't be lit up. If I have lots of channels open, one of those will get the [1], and the inbox will be lit up in none of them.
