I can connect to a roleplay/PM as the wrong character (solved)
It'll even sort of work:
- Open a PM. Use the in-channel character switcher to pick someone who shouldn't be in the PM.
- You'll be refused and asked to choose another character. Choose the same one again.
You're done. You're now an Idler in the user list with that character who doesn't have permission to post and be there. Start typing and you'll show up, and so will your typing indicator. When you try to send your post you'll get an error and lose your post but until then everything will seem OK.
This happened for real earlier when someone joined a RP as the wrong character. When they were asked to join again (in step #2) they were just like "uh what, I did mean that one" and just picked that character again.
There should probably be something making it clear you picked a character who can't post and should choose another. Choosing the same character again shouldn't work.. There's other recent feedback pointing out you should just autopick the one character who can post and, if there more than one, you shouldn't be able to pick any who can't post.

Hm, it shouldn't do this. Before, if you picked a wrong character, it would almost immediately bring up the selector window again, making it so you basically had to select a valid character.
It does do that! Only, if you then pick the same wrong character you picked before, the selector window goes away and stays gone. It'll be the one that's dimmed out with a tick over it.
So I could connect Velus to a PM that doesn't involve Velus by doing this:
- Open the PM.
- Pick Velus in the in-chat character switcher.
- When the character picker appears again, pick Velus again.
The character switcher will go away and I'll be able to start typing as Velus.
Question is, is it only picking the same wrong character that works, or can you pick any after the thing pops up a second time?
A quick test reveals it only happens if you re-select the same again. Otherwise it keeps popping back up.
This should be fixed now.
