Feedback ยท Importing preferences fails silently (confirmed)

I can import traits and interests just fine. However, when I import preferences they do not transfer over successfully like traits and interests. This has been an issue for a while.

When I choose a character and select any combination of importing options that includes the "Import preferences" option, it seems to work just fine at first. I get the successful import alert. However, when I refresh the page to see the changes I see that the import hasn't happened. Traits or interests will be updated, but preferences, whether they're the only option checked or in combination with the others, will not.

I've confirmed this. Importing preferences only works if you're also importing traits - even if you already have all the traits they'd be assigned to. Here's what I did, profile links will break whenever the testing server is refreshed:

  • test1 (testing.litphoria.com) - a character with an age and mental gender chosen, some preferences on them, and some interests. This is what I'll be importing from.
  • test2 (testing.litphoria.com) - full import of traits, preferences and interests from test1, and saved. Worked fine.
  • test3 (testing.litphoria.com) - chose just an age with some preferences set that don't match. Imported preferences from test1. Said it was successful, nothing changed. Bug.
  • test4 (testing.litphoria.com) - set up age and mental gender with the same values and no preferences. Imported preferences from test 1. Same again, success, no change, even though the traits are right there with a blank preference area. Bug.
