A quick-copy button for name.pid (accepted)
More features like the ignore list, blacklist, and roleplay invitations are using the name.pid format. It's a bit of a task having to check a profile two or three times while typing their name.pid combination into another tab - one check for their name, at least one more for their pid, and another to make sure you got them both right.
Could we please have a quick way to copy someone's name.pid combination from their profiles?
I'm thinking a link or magnet icon beside their name, or beside their PID, which when clicked expands to an already-highlighted text field with their name.pid written there. For Wrecked Avent, it'd expand to:
wrecked avent.0
and already have all the text highlighted so I can just hit ctrl+c and tab away from the page.
(Special request: don't use a pop-up, I have to close it before moving away from the page or doing anything else with the profile page.)

Isn't there technology to directly write to clipboard? Or is that a design/security nono? A button that just immediately stores text in the clipboard seems a cleaner way to achieve this.
That might actually be possible... In the past browser security meant direct clipboard manipulation was not feasible but maybe there's been a turnaround?
I could swear I've seen some of the filehosting sites do it with buttons to let you share uploaded content.
These are temporary and just meant to get the feature working. As we get contact lists and other things, you shouldn't need to use the name.pid format anymore.
It would be possible in the mean time to just add buttons to ignore and such onto the profile.
Well tbh I've wanted this ever since inviting someone to a roleplay for the first time - I can use the invite button on their profile of course, but name.pid is important for inviting from the roleplay. (Once contacts are added, it'd be how I add someone not on my contacts.)
It just became more relevant once both ignore and blacklist got added using this stuff, and got me thinking about this again.
Got something to say?
