Feedback ยท Change description of Teenager (implemented)

We talked about the teenager description in child teenager young adult (litphoria.com) and it turns out it doesn't make much sense, because it's defined in terms of puberty and that's not how teenagers are actually defined - they're defined by being in their teen years, or between child/adult. So I suggest we change the description of Teenager from this:

A character who appears to be post-pubescent, but not an adult

To this:

A character in their teen years, or who is no longer a child but not yet recognised as an adult.

Teenagers are adults (18-19) and "in their teen years" is an absolute description.

Samus

That's fine, someone who considers their character to be someone who'd be recognised as an adult can go pick the Young Adult option. There's a bit of overlap.

And yes, but there's also an "or" for the part where people just pick this thing for "no longer a child but not yet an adult" characters where being in your teen years doesn't apply. (For example, idk, elves who're 100 years old in some canons, though they'd probably have a better word for it than teenager.)

I thought "or" means these are two alternative descriptions for the same thing.

Samus

More that it's two different ways we could use the teenager category.

The description of Teenager has been changed from:

A character who appears to be post-pubescent, but not an adult.

to:

A character who appears to be adolescent, or older than a child but younger than an adult.

It has also been given a search alias of adolescent.
