I'd love to see when a profile was last edited! Mostly my own. This could be set to either private or public by the owner (maybe on a character-by-character basis).
I just figure it's a good way for people to know "Oh, I haven't even looked at this character in half a year. I should make sure the interest list and everything is up-to-date!"

I'd be okay with seeing my own last edit dates, it could be a good reminder for maintenance like you said.
I don't want others to see 'em. I've got several profiles I haven't edited in a few months 'cause I'm happy with them just as they are for now. In lieu of no other status indicators I fear that'd be interpreted like: "oh, they haven't edited in months, I guess they're unlikely to be around." I am! Though my last edit date won't tell you that.
Hence my specification that it should be able to be set private or public on a per-character basis. Some people might want them (not me, but someone, maybe), and some people will just want their own.
Ok. I've got nothing against it being a private/public option. I wonder what effect it'll have? Probably no big deal.
