Used to be we could open the same channel twice. That'd let us bring two characters into it, or open it on two devices, etc.

As of the update from a couple of days ago, if you open a second chat tab, the first encounters a problem. You won't see it until you try to send a post, at which point you get an error saying:

Your account does not have the permissions to use this profile.

It's a weird error message too.

It was technically possible for quite a while though, there was even a fix made for a bug that similarly invalidated the first session.

It should definitely be officially supported to have two different characters in one channel, I think, and this makes that hard/impossible (not sure which yet).

Right now it's impossible to do without making it painfully obvious that both characters are the same user. This needs a fix.

I can very easily make it easier to switch out when you connect in another tab, that's a much quicker fix than rewriting it to support two at once.

I've made it much easier to switch to another profile when you get disconnected because you connected with the same profile in another tab.
