Feedback · Roll and don't add (accepted)

Many games, such as the Cortex Plus series of role playing games, require handling dice manually. There are many different steps and variables that go into the final result, or there might just be an unconventional mechanic that isn't supported by the software. Including the sum total of dice may get confusing in these instances.

I propose an option to suppress adding dice together, and to instead display each die result as in the Verbose option, but without a total.

Korra

I regularly play games that involve counting successes, and I'd just roll verbose and ignore the total. It's at least visually distinct too.

dice · Korra rolls 3d6v and gets 9! ([2, 5, 2])

What can some dice rolls end up looking like such that it gets confusing?

Pinkie Pie

Well, I'm dyscalculic so it's probably a sliding scale. But in the case of Cortex Plus Heroic, lets say you're rolling a dice pool. You separate out the 1s, add two dice together for your total, add in any dice that you pay for with plot points, and choose your effect die. There's an entire irrelevant number right there that might get mixed up in that. I know I'm slow at plenty of dice stuff, like counting successes. The additional number is something I'd need to actively remind myself that it's irrelevant.
