It does though. I'm typing this from a mobile phone even, where the site is sized perfectly and features and layouts in some spots have even been significantly altered to benefit a small screen experience. I use this site from my phone regularly.

Are you not experiencing that? What's going on, can you give us a screenshot of what you see? What device do you have? What browser are you using?

I'm using at the moment a 15" MacBook Pro and the chat window message list grows in size initially until I have to scroll the whole page or full screen in order to use chat properly

I'd like this for both sides. I have a large screen and about half of it is just blank empty space, I'd like to be able to widen the chat windows to make better use of the empty space.

Right now the backlog scrolling chat is set to a specific height... which is, yeah, larger than most monitors. Including 1920x1080 monitors, just slightly. Needs some adjustment for sure.

There's also page scrolling as an alternative.

The site by and large already does this for going smaller. There really isn't a content scaling for going larger than a 1920x1080 screen, though.
