Italics in chats should not be colored (needs discussion)
Coloring italics is distracting. I use them to give a little emphasis, but the color makes words pop way too much. Image example
Did you notice the bold 'test' just before the one in italics? Italics should not stand out more than bold in my opinion.
If either of those two are to be highlighted it ought be bold, but better to just make color its own thing entirely rather than attaching it to one or the other.
I can see why you wouldn't want to add color as its own thing with so many theme combinations, but this makes italics useless for my purposes as it draws the eye in ways it ought not. There is no small emphasis option as it is- it's all big distractions.

There is actually a small emphasis option in the new parser, you can use the <i>text</i>
html directly. It's not documented yet since I'm still deciding if I'm going to keep it like that.
Also, w.r.t noticing italics before bold, bolds actually used to be colored as well.
