Zireael

I'm pretty sure that both colloquial terms are unneeded with the fact that there's a gender expression and mental gender, along with a genital trait. So, a F2M transgendered person pre-any sorta operation might be:

gender expression: Androgynous or Masculine mental gender: Male genitals: Vagina

It sorta works vice-versa without really dubbing profiles with gender titles, because it helps with characters like I mentioned in my example who're guys with vaginas, which is sorta a kink, and it defeats the whole nasty "cunt-boy" 'gender' that sites like F-list uses. I think those three traits together more or less define a character, though, and their gender, including the breast size too - as going with my example that too would be "male".

As for writing female-to-male, I feel as if in this situation it doesn't really matter they were once a woman, because what does matter is that they're a guy, and I find that having to point out what they were before they underwent this change is unneeded. IMHO, anyway.

I agree with what Zireael's saying. Transgender characters just express themselves as what they are now - what they were before doesn't matter so much. A transwoman's gender isn't "transwoman" or "mtf", it's "female".

It does mean profiles can't distinguish exactly when they're transgender though.
