Feedback ยท Character Profile Customization (new)

I'd first like to start by expressing how very much I enjoy this site, overall, and that I believe it has the potential to become the best platform for online literary role-play. The layout is very clean and welcoming, the greyscales to white text contrast is not harsh on the reader's eyes and this Chat system. B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. I'm in love with it and never want to let it go. A friend of mine very much agrees. No sketchy ads, the IC/OOC buttons on the bottom, a little image icon near our name on the post... all of these little things stand out for a big, amazing chat system I look forward to using to its greatest potential for group storylines. I have one stifler and while it's not big enough of an issue to be a deal breaker for me, I do believe addressing it will help bring more people in.

We are role-players. Many of us role-players are gamers, as well and I'm willing to bet that a great majority enjoy games that allow character customization. It's fun, it's personal, it allows us to express ourselves in our characters. A lot like how many of us enjoy building and designing characters for role-play. In terms of role-play, no matter what outlet i've gone to, I find people gravitate toward customizing their character profiles. Headers, images and drawings, maybe gifs... sometimes a site allows wallpaper backgrounds or music on profiles. I wouldn't go that far but I would suggest optimizing on how we're allowed to customize character sheets. Maybe reducing their sizes so that they're not stretched, wide, across the screen but can, maybe, be sat beside each other as boxes or columns that can be resized. Much like one of MySpace's last and greatest layout editors before the big decline, or how the Windows 10 smartphone OS allows users to resize app icons on the main screen. As any user of any system, I compare the next to the one I used before. My most recent being F-List where more photos are permitted to a character profile and bbcoding is used, allowing members to create graphic headers and reduce the amount of scrolldown space created by excessive OOC/IC info with use of collapse boxes... among other text options which are, for the most part, covered by markdowns here.

As a new user, I was surprised to see that I was limited to uploading 4 images to a profile. Immediately, I imagined people would end up making more profiles if just to extend their galleries. Sure enough, when looking through profiles, there are more than a series of them which kind of gives a bad look to what's a very beautiful site... when considering how risque and the nature of some of those pics and galleries. Granted, folks like that might still be unsatisfied with an increased gallery size and would make more profiles anyway but increasing the size gives less of a reason why they would. It also helps players who may like posting several pictures for visual purposes... combat role-players who may want to show more pictures of different armors and weapons, players who enjoy showing their characters in different outfits, different looks or different parts of their lives. If the person has pets, a vehicle, transforms, etc.

I truly feel that litphoria has the right setup for the perfect role-play website. Nothing comes close to this as far as cleanliness and overall presentation. But give your members more freedoms with their profiles. We're artists, creators, editors and tinkerers as well as we are story-tellers. I can guarantee a cleaner profile layout with more customization controls and options, and less scrolldown will take litphoria right to the top. It has something that no other site has save for bad-ass, pardon the French, profiles. I love this site and look forward to seeing it grow~
