Feedback ยท Add give/take/both to interests (implemented)

related to End of Alpha Features

I'd like to specify that an interest I provide on one of my lists is only for giving/taking.

At first I've deemed this not necessary because you can already specify your role in these sorts of things usually with top/bottom. It would be assumed that a character who is listed as a bottom is by default only interested in giving the interests listed and vice-versa. This would be more for listing more complicated interests, like a submissive person who really enjoys performing oral, for instance, but is not too interested in receiving it.

A "power bottom" can already be expressed on the site by being listed as dominant but taking the bottom rule (hence the name). Searching and profile comparing will be impacted by this, but I'm still not sure to what extent.

No, the list won't be fractured. What will happen is there will be a dropdown when you're adding/editing it that says whether or not you like this interest in giving/taking/both. That way it'll come "for free" with all new interests and won't bloat the size.

It's also true it could be expressed through the context too, though.

The problem with inferring giving/receiving from top/bottom is that top/bottom sounds like it refers directly to sex, and there's more kinks where giving/receiving is valid that don't have to do with it and could easily have different preferences from how someone feels about sex. I've seen characters that identify as submissive, who usually bottom in sex, but who prefer to be the predator in vore, for example. Sure, contexts help a bit, but this would be more easily searchable.

And it would improve comparing. If you're only interested in, say, vore as giving, you wouldn't want to be positively matched with someone else who only likes it giving.

Just had a thought: giving/taking for interests would compliment like/dislike for traits, actually.
