Feedback ยท Small interest-context bug (solved)

When editing a profile in either Firefox or Chrome, when altering text in an 'interest context' box and then clicking into another 'interest context', it loses focus on the next interest context box. Then I press backspace, assuming I'll erase text, and the browser picks it up as 'Back' instead, losing all my changes! Aaah oh noes!

You mean to say by clicking into one interest context, then clicking into another, it loses focus? If so, I am not able to reproduce this in any of my testing browsers (a few IEs, chrome, FF), even with tabbing. Maybe there's a bit more to it than just clicking in?

Yeah, there is a bit more - you have to actually edit text in an interest box, then click another one. Does that reproduce it?

Huh, that seems to do it. That's... weird! Okay then.

Until I can further investigate the cause of this I'm going to put a band-aid around it and add a confirm modal when you try and leave the page while in edit mode. That should at least stop this from resulting in serious frustration.

I'm considering this fixed with the patch to require leaving a profile that is being edited. The underlying problem (the textboxes defocusing) is something I'll have to debug some more, but at least this issue is toothless.
