related to Profile redesign

It takes a lot of page changes to add all those traits and interests, forcing me to wait for the website over and over. Using my browser's back button after adding a trait doesn't work due to caching, forcing me to re-enter my profile-edit from the start. Altogether this makes editing a profile extremely cumbersome and un-fun for me.

There isn't really any way to get around this without introducing a bunch of forms into the profile edit.

I can prototype some things. There's probably a neat way to do this without making the page heinously complex with forms, but I suspect it'll not be too intuitive.

Would it be possible to have a drop down box to add an interest/trait, and then the extra info box appear after you've added it, along with another drop down box to add another? I'm sorry if that was unclear, and I'm sorry that I have no idea whether or not this is possible. :<

I'm going to take the very large amount of endorsement this has received to mean the whole profile in general needs some more work. I'm planning a redesign of the page that will encompass this as well as keep the profile in line with the goals I stated they were intended to achieve: to provide as much relevant information about the profile as quickly as possible.

Alessa's idea was rather something workable. Instead of having major lists of endless forms, have each part of the profile as it shows when you view it, but at the bottom (if you own the profile) there is a button for 'Add' which makes a small form appear. Then you enter the values and choices and such. Everytimes you click on 'Add' it adds a new such form, for filling out a profile. It grows as you need it, so no-undeeded checkboxes and such . . . After trying out the profile editing for a while, it is sort of annoying enough that most people would end up leaving empty profiles. I know I almost did.

I have added the trait adder (editor not finished) to show the direction I'll be going in with these on-profile adders and editors. I'm quite pleased with it actually.

Wrecked Avent Site Administrator

I have added the interest adder and editor. Both likely need a bit of tweaking. This just leaves some editing for traits and preferences before this is fully shipped.

I have added preference editor. I am considering this implemented for now, but I'll still be making tweaks as I finished the profile redesign.
