I see that I can view the conversation, but I cannot view the message to which I am replying while composing that message, and if already composing, I don't think it is very nice to have to navigate backwards to the PM and potentially lose what you have composed so far.

Well, I think there are cases where a PM exchange is far preferable to starting a Litphoria Roleplay. I'm thinking of the thank-you notes, apologies, etc that I've sent. Yes, I've gotten RP proposals that would go better in an RP on Litphoria, but then there are other times that it is just quick little non-RP related 'notes', which were sent due to both of us not being on

Sure, and I agree this particular thing needs to be a thing so that others can do things with this thing.

I was thinking of submitting pretty much this suggestion earlier, it's be very useful to see the message you're replying to, rather than having it open in a different tab if you need to read it again.

I don't know if this would really work, but the last couple days, I keep imagining what it'd be like if PMs themselves were just private roleplays. It seems like it could be nice. These could transition into actual roleplays & real-time chat reallyreally well.

Maybe they could be called "PMs," but functionally just be a roleplay that only has OOC enabled. But it'd be possible to "upgrade" it to an actual roleplay at any time.

I just realized that idea ties in with this suggestion a lot.

Note that the new suggestion text for messaging system basically blows this problem away by making PMs a subset of roleplays.

Yes, it does. And I like that other idea, since I was one of the ones suggesting it. ;)
