More information should be visible anywhere you can see a profile link by hovering over it for a second.

?

Can you elaborate? If you click any avatar you get the full picture. It's not really buried.

Princess Bubblegum

I didn't realize that avatars were just the first picture on a profile.

I guess what I really want is more information visible from anywhere you'd see a profile link. Like right now, I can't see your 'avatar' or any other major defining characteristic of your character from this page. I have to click you to get to that.

I want a thumbnail, some vital stats, etc, to appear when hovering over the link to someone's profile, so that you know "Jo" is a 6 foot tall panda man when you hover over his name instead of having to go to his profile to get that kind of information and realizing you aren't interested in roleplaying with Jo. Names as the only information to go on when checking someone out IS interesting as a concept, and I like the lack of colors that mean certain genders or something similarly silly, but having ONLY names to go on until you click profiles is a bit jarring and weird to me, and I feel like having them inline would be bad.

Princess Bubblegum

Edited OP to reflect more what I think should be added

Princess Bubblegum

Also, when I say "having them inline" I mean having vital information inline on the page would probably be distracting but basically I'd like a 'drill down' that gives me more information, without actually clicking a link or opening a new tab.

Princess Bubblegum

Also, unrelated, but man is it weird to not be able to edit replies, I keep being too vague and having to make another reply instead of just editing to be less vague.

Why would you want an avatar when we're talking about a feature idea? What my profile looks like isn't relevant to the ideas I'm bringing to the table or talking about. In places where that is relevant, such as in search results and in roleplay, you get avatars.

Princess Bubblegum

The place I noticed they weren't visible was the recently updated profiles list. Didn't know they appeared in searches. I guess that suffices.

This could potentially be more useful in, for example, chat channels, so as when you hover over them you get more information. But I don't think avatars need to appear everywhere around the site, just in places where the character's appearance and content is relevant.

Princess Bubblegum

I can agree with that.

I have moved this out of needs discussion as there was no more discussion to be had.
