Feedback ยท Use a [ or ( or (( to auto-designate a post as OOC. (implemented)

use [ or ( or (( to start an OOC post, and then hitting the POST button would make it post as an OOC post. Starting without the OOC character would make it IC. Maybe not my ideal method on a phone, but a user on the phone can still manually select from the box, and ideally(?), the setting will be sticky for multiple posts in one mode or the other.

You start an OOC post with the [ char like: [blah blah somethin, somethin, derpette, LEL!!] and then when you hit post, it marks it as an OOC post, without having to set it as OOC manually before posting.

Seems like this might be a setting we set? I haven't had two people use the same OOC indicators.

Anne Mayer

I could see (( or [ , because they are both not common starts unless using for OOC, and prefer [ a lot because it is just one, un-shifted keypress.

Tyne

It might also be cool to have a keyboard shortcut act as a toggle, like Tab or something. I still like the idea of using (blah) for OOC too.

Not sure about keyboard shortcut, but making it as Avent said - a field in your settings where you can denote a chain of characters that is recognised as OOC post seems to be a way to go. Gives some customisation and doesn't force people into standards they are not used to.

Anne Mayer

And I envision that this would post that one post as OOC, ideally removing the special character from the text, while maintaining the chat in IC, so that the next post you make without the special character would be IC again.

This has mostly been rolled out. Some more details will be added on a later date, such as configurable OOC delimter
