related to Make OOC comments visible to participants only
Let's say you want to join a public roleplay, but you want to work something out with the other people who've already posted, and you only want other posters to the roleplay to see this communication. Things can sometimes go funky and dramatic during this stage, and it's nice not to put it on public display. If you wanted additional control, you could select which other individuals can see your post - this could be handy too!

Put another way, you'd like if roleplays had three post settings.
In Character: The meat of the roleplay, the actual story and scene.
Out of Character: The chatter that goes on that's not a part of the story.
Private: Also out of character, but only readable to those actually engaged in the roleplay.
