The most common trope in the Digimon series, a human (or I suppose anthro, if that's more your fancy) meets the digimon(s) that they're destined to be partnered with and go on an adventure together to stop some bad guys and/or save a world or two. It's also, in my experience, the most commonly used idea to set up digimon RP scenes that're one-on-one. And, well, if it works it works. Why not use it?
