Can this be bumped down to just objectification so that it can get more use in nonsexual situations? Such as using someone for personal gain, emotional satisfaction or just assigning them dehumanizing tasks.
We should have both, so I'm going to suggest that too. (I suggested this one because sexual objectification specifically is what I'm into; they're different like bondage vs suspension play are different, and include all those things you mentioned.)
Specifically, from what I remember from a couple of blog posts, objectification even means, say... getting someone to stand in the corner for a couple of hours with a lampshade over their head and pretend to just be furniture. I can respect people being into that, but that's way out of this ballpark.
Alva, a friend's suggested that Agency Denial could cover both, and be nonsexual, and I dig that option as well. What are your thoughts on having that, maybe instead of either of these?
(Once upon a time I suggested angency removal and then edited it into degradation when I was at a point of thinking they might be synonymous, so that may sound familiar.)
Agency Denial is more direct and generalized of a term but it feels like nobody would search that since it's usually referred to as objectification or degradation in kink circles...so I don't know.
