I was thinking what if you messed up on a post you should be allowed to delete it and try again. it would be nice for those who catch a mistake they made and can fix it right on the dot instead of using the OOC chat to fix it.

If not Delete, at least a way to Edit! Typos can create such amusing innuendos, but sometimes... you don't want them to stay there!

Will definitely have to consider this one a bit more. Editing and deleting vastly complicates things like moderation and are not nice to handle when things go more live.

A "hidden" could work. Encouraging you to take a look before you post, but still preserving it for moderation and such while still allowing you to correct when needed.

I am accepting this with the acknowledgement that it will be a "hide" and not a "delete". I am editing the suggestion slightly to match this.
To prevent though flooding out a page for an admin (because some people will edit a post 5-10 times) ...The view on <edited/delted> posts should be a drop down, seriously. Someone editing 10 times a 200 lines post would cause the moderator to just have a migrane if he has to sort through that while trying to read the real posts... So having the changes put in chronological order in a dropdown would help make their life of just seeing the normal course of RP a bit easier. I'm sure you were thinking of that though!

The idea right now is not to allow editing of posts, but allowing you to hide ones. The content of the post would be inlined to just "User x has decided to delete their post." This would let you still edit a catastrophic typo or something but still encourage you to take your time when writing the post out and double-check for errors or such.
Still much more then live chat allows! Live chat, you can't go back and hide a post even, you have to live through it...or tell teh other party: "Mind if I rewrite? That was crappy!"
