Feedback ยท Enhancement of profile search - a unified approach (new)

There are several suggestions for enhancing the profile search that, when taken together, can result in a very powerful search system that will allow pinpointing desired profiles with a surgical degree of accuracy.

This "suggestion" is meant to illustrate how they can work together.

Boolean searches, including AND, OR and NOT expressions.

There are two relevant suggestions:

Implementing them will allow searching for, for example, profiles that have (breast size of average OR breast size of large) AND NOT (orgasm size of none OR orgasm size of small) (actual syntax can differ).

The assumption is that NOT clauses will include unspecified entries.

Searching by interest level.

There are three relevant suggestions, that appear to be subsets of the general case:

If combined with the boolean option above, it will allow searching in any combination of interest levels. Although realistically, I believe that only the following would be used:

  • mandatory/core (indicating strong preference)
  • NOT mandatory/core (that is: yes/will-try/no/unspecified)
  • mandatory/core/yes (indicating preference)
  • mandatory/core/yes/will-try (current default)
  • no (indicating strong reluctance)
  • NOT no (that is: mandatory/core/yes/will-try/no/unspecified)

As the number of members grows, the ability to perform more specific searches becomes more important. As an example, the flexibility of searches on F-list ensures a high signal-to-noise ratio (but they have other problems).
